Mixed Media - Charcoal, Pastels on Tinted Paper

From Somogy's 'International Collection' - A stylized, romanticized rendition of a handsome man from the Romany culture. "Gypsy" is the term most people use for this ethnic group, but it is actually a pejorative term that is generally NOT used by the Romanys themselves. One of my artistic goals is to present and preserve the various indigenous cultures and peoples around the world, many of whom are in danger of becoming "extinct" and/or are misunderstood/unknown.
