“Green Trees Marching up a Hill” with distant light is a painting filled with two of Purcell's favourite subjects - Trees and Harvest Fields.

She always thinks of trees as characters and this line of trees on a hill near where Purcell lives always catches her eye and makes her smile. Whilst she was painting this piece she kept thinking of the Kate Bush song "Running up that Hill" another favourite of hers and it seemed to fit perfectly with her painting.
