"Dark haired woman wearing and holding emerald beads which contrast her dark hair. The heavy curtains in her room filter the glowing light, providing a glowing background to this intimate scene.

I decided to subtitle this piece Róisín Dubh, because of the Emerald connection to Ireland and in celebration of my being Irish. "Róisín Dubh" means ""Dark Rose"" or Dark Rosaleen, associated with a 16th century love poem.

This image is created from professional chalk pastels: Sennelier, Winsor & Newton, and the lovely paper is my very favourite grey/blue Indian handmade, a 210gsm pure cotton. It has a textured surface, perfect for pastel, with a pleasing deckle edge* Paper measures 12 x 17"" / A3

Available unframed. Carefully packed flat. All my artworks are sent with a Certificate of Authenticity. *Some of my collectors prefer to leave this deckle edge uncovered by a mount/mat at the time of framing. Simply request your framer to ""float"" the image but make sure that the paper is kept away from the glass by a slip of wood or card. A good framer will advise."
