Artist Statement of Conor Coughlan

Conor Coughlan's work aims to highlight the beauty he sees in his urban surroundings and in particular metal surfaces which he believes are often overlooked by the passer-by. His work is heavily influenced by concept of Wabi-Sabi, which is a concept in traditional Japanese aesthetics constituting a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection and recognising its beauty.
