Thierry Faure paints in oils with palette knives. These techniques allow a total freedom as well as a sincere spontaneity and leads to permanent questioning. His themes are : Horses, music, abstract painting. Thierry uses a wide variety on his palette : ocres, hot, cold, and breaks.
His first passion, sixty years of complicity with horses. The rider in him, paints them for the quest of movement : polo, racing, dressage etc…., the painter in him, paints them as a pretext for a quest of harmony.
First exhibitions in 1982, Thierry Faure has exhibited his paintings in France, Great Britain, Belgium, Ireland and United-states (Boston and Hawaï).
Interview - The Quest for Movement
In 1998, Thierry Faure began to draw and to paint (oil and palette-knife) on the theme of music, strings: cello and violin. Then he came to abstract painting, abstract-figurative (painting inspires the theme) and then a quest of light and transparency on the theme of the stained-glass.
These themes are not exclusive, sometimes the animal painter goes for a walk in the farm yard: Poultry, calves and cows, even pigs. A short visit to the court, the bench and barking barristers. Happy or sad crowds walking in the roads, drinking in pubs etc…. The theme is always and only a pretext, it must imperatively give way to the painting: quest of harmony, structure and rhythm. All is allowed except nonsense
