Sanjay Sahai

Dr. Sanjay Sahai though trained as an eye surgeon ( MBBS, DOMS from KGMC, Lucknow) consciously switched careers early on, from medicine to art ,which was his love. For the past twenty-five years, he has been devoting his entire time to painting, illustration and graphic design.

Entirely self-taught as an artist, he works mainly in the realistic domain in oils, watercolours, pastels, acrylics, pencil, etc. His subjects could be anything and everything from scenes from everyday life, places,people, landscapes, architecture and monuments, animals, portraits and so on,in sizes ranging from postcard size to six feet X ten feet, although the majority are large format oils on canvas.

He began exhibiting about ten years ago and has had two solo shows and some group shows at Lalit Kala Akademi,Rabindra Bhawan, New Delhi and a number of group shows at various venues including the Habiart Gallery and the Convention Centre lobby of the India Habitat Centre,New Delhi.
