Per Johansson

Per Johansson was born in Malmö, Sweden in 1984. He studied painting with the artist Peenti Melarti in 2005 and 2006. In 2008 Per was invited to study art at TCG Nordica in Kunming, China.

In his new series of pantings he is depicting mountains from China, Norway and Turkey. The inspiration for these paintings comes from his direct experience of the mountains but also from the Chinese landscape painting and their thoughts about nature.

They acted not only to depict mountains as they looked. Their goal was instead to capture natures soul and their experience of it. Nature was divine and a way to reach enlightenment. In the same way, Johansson is trying to create his own image of the mountains, as he experienced them. Magnificent, mysterious and present.
