Launching in Leeds for the first time, 2019 marks 70 years of New Contemporaries. Since 1949, New Contemporaries has organised an annual open submission exhibition for emerging artists. This platform has become nationally recognised as a barometer of work emerging from UK art schools and alternative programmes. This year’s artists were selected by artists Rana Begum, Sonia Boyce and Ben Rivers. Further details on the artists involved can be found on the New Contemporaries website.
