The Art Gallery of Burlington was founded in 1978 through the work of several arts guilds and cooperatives in Burlington city, Ontario. Originally, it operated as a centre for art groups with studios dedicated to the creation of fine arts, sculpture, ceramics, hand crafts and photography. From 1983 onwards, the centre became a public gallery offering access to exhibitions, educational programs and their collection of Canadian Ceramic Art.

Today, The Art Gallery of Burlington houses Canada’s largest collection of contemporary Canadian ceramics, playing host to over 100,000 visitors each year. Located on the waterfront near Spencer Park, it provides a multitude of activities for art lovers.
